Last year we asked you to pray for Harouna Ouedraogo, a fatherless boy we have been supporting in Burkina Faso. His mother died suddenly, leaving Harouna to look after 2 younger siblings. We were concerned for his education as he was doing very well in school until this incidence. We praise the Lord and rejoice with Harouna who passed his exams very well and has now got a place to study at the University of Ouagadougou. He also obtained a government academic scholarship because of his circumstances.

Sam Banda who we have been supporting since 1999 has completed secondary school in Mufulira Zambia. He hopes to obtain a place at the University of Zambia to study electrical engineering. We had asked you to pray for Sam and his mother. Prior to ACT support, Sam's mother had attempted to abandon him in desperation because of her needs as she was unemployed. Since then the family situation has improved dramatically.

Our partners in Tanga, Tanzania have seen many answers to prayers recently. The particular case of one of the Kuwaka's whom we support in Tanga has been so refreshing. We prayed for him late last year as he was being having a negative influence at home particulalry on his younger brother. Suddenly a change came upon this boy and he has been transformed. He now attends Church regulalrly with his mother and is helpful to her at home. Thank God for him and other sponsored children in Tanga, Tanzania who all did very well at the end of year exams in their schools. The children and their mothers had an excellent time together at an ACT Day in December.
Praise God that the Tanzanian Government has halved the basic school fees for day scholars. This will leave the widows with more money to improve the welfare of their families.
