The Kenya High Commissioner to the UK, HE Lazarus O Amayo warmly welcomed ACT Director, Dr Kunle Onabolu accompanied by trustee, Abby Olufeyimi to the High Commission in London during a recent visit. The High Commissioner expressed delight with how ACT’s projects are helping to generate economic activity in rural communities and improving the lives of people. He thanked ACT on behalf of the government and people of Kenya for the good work it is doing educating needy orphans and empowering poor widows in his country. Earlier Dr Onabolu had described ACT as a “Friend of Kenya”. He expressed his desire to work with the High Commissioner to alleviate poverty among widows and orphans in Kenya and support development in rural communities. Both he and Abby Olufeyimi had paid a courtesy call on the High Commissioner on 2 June, 2016 to apprise him of the work ACT is doing in Webuye, Bungoma County. In April 2016 ACT commissioned a water project that installed pipelines from the Milo mains supply to communities in Sitikho Ward, including the local primary school where ACT supports about 23 children.. ACT has been working in Kenya with local partner JTAN in Webuye since 2013.
