The Uganda High Commissioner to the UK, H.E. Professor Joyce Kikafunda has thanked ACT for standing with the people of Uganda in the development of their nation through education of its children, particularly disadvantaged vulnerable children and orphans. Prof Kikafunda made the comment when ACT Director, Dr Kunle Onabolu and trustee, Abby Olufeyimi paid a courtesy call on the High Commissioner on 7th June, 2016 to apprise her of the work ACT is doing in Uganda. The High Commissioner also expressed delight with ACT’s programme of empowering needy widows living in the rural communities, through training in business skills, so they can generate sustainable income to support their families and educate their children.
Dr Onabolu thanked the High Commissioner for the warm welcome. He hopes that ACT can build on the cooperation with the High Commission to expand its work in Uganda to other regions, beside Busoga region where it is currently working. ACT has been working in Uganda with local partner Christian Vision based in Jinja since 2006.
