Volunteer Finance Manager (Part Time)

African Child Trust (ACT) a small UK registered charity established with a mission to relieve poverty of widows, orphans and disadvantaged children in Africa. We are passionate about changing lives and giving opportunities to disadvantaged people to achieve their potential in life in the 8 African countries where we are currently operating.  We are based in Croydon close to the main stations (5 minutes from West Croydon and 10 minutes from East Croydon).

ACT is for the people otherwise forgotten. Can you offer us your skills to help them?

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Finance Manager to manage all aspects of our accounting and financial work, internal control process, budgets and financial planning. You will oversee the work of an assistant Finance Officer. Knowledge of the charity sector would be helpful but is not essential. The role will suit a person willing to use their skills to make a difference.

Responsibilities:

• Complete month end processes including balance sheet reconciliations
• Produce management accounts for Director and Trustees
• Produce statutory accounts, preparing audit file and participating in the audit examination
• Produce and monitoring budgets.
• Claim gift aid on donations
• Manage Assistant Finance Officer

Role duration: Ongoing

Hours:   Flexible 8-12 hours per month (estimate) working from our Croydon office as required.
