Moshi is a major town in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania and lies at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. The town is mainly an administrative centre. The local Moshi people live in outlying villages surrounding the town. They are mainly Christians of Lutheran and Catholic denominations. Sources of income are limited and in many cases insufficient to cater for the normal family needs. Families who have lost either one or both parents are often in desperate need and cannot afford to send the children to school.
