The Malawi High Commissioner to the UK, HE Kena Mphonda, has expressed delight with the work ACT is doing in Malawi. He was particularly pleased that ACT’s work is based in the rural communities, which is where he believes the support for development is most needed.
The High Commissioner made these remarks when he warmly welcomed ACT Director Dr Kunle Onabolu and trustee Abby Olufeyimi to the High Commission in London. He thanked ACT for its projects in Malawi which are helping to transform the lives of poor widows, vulnerable children and orphans in the south of the country.
Earlier, Dr Onabolu had remarked on a meeting he had with the First Lady of Malawi, Madam Gertrude Mutharika, during her visit to the UK last December with President Mutharika He described this meeting as pivotal in strengthening ACT’s partnership with the nation of Malawi to alleviate poverty and support development in rural communities.
ACT has been working in the Phalombe and Mulanje districts of Malawi since 2007. You can read more here about how we are supporting communities in Malawi.
