Copperbelt University graduate, Victoria Beza is the latest addition to the very small numbers of female engineers in Zambia. ACT has supported Victoria since secondary school to completion of her university degree where recently she obtained her BSc degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. Pictured above is Victoria and Rev Kazhila, leader of LGF, Chingola, ACT’s partner in Zambia. Victoria’s story although not untypical is another case of victory over adversity.

She is the youngest of five siblings. Her father passed away in 1992 when she was only five years old and her mother tragically five years later. Victoria and her siblings looked to relatives for help; but it got to a stage where she was unable to go to school due to insufficient funds. She lost all hope of ever finishing her education until she received ACT support in 2004. The official graduation ceremony will take place this June; we will share her graduation pictures with you our followers on facebook and twitter!
